![]() We never did learn exactly how the Enclave truly works. From there you could explore the internal politics and structure of the enclave while being apart of it. The FO3 MC was a vault dweller so maybe with some convincing the Enclave could be made to give to give you a chance. They offer up a world and scenarios where you could easily take the evil route then railroad you onto the good guy path.Īnyways to really explore the Enclave we’d need them to be joinable. That’s a problem with a lot of these RPG games. We should be allowed to be evil if we want. Yes they’re evil but this is a post-apocalyptic RPG. Really Join them not just poison the water. And so the only way to actually explore the Enclave in depth as a faction is to join them. The Enclave is aggressive towards outsiders and so we couldn’t just walk up and talk to their leaders and ask about them like we can do with other factions in the Fallout universe. The Enclave as a faction needed to be joinable to really tell us a story. ![]() Who knows? Not us because the deepest we go into the Enclave in 3 is “they’re bad and maybe have internal issues” and then we just casually blow them up twice because they’re doing bad things. Maybe their ideology began to split during the Trek or after they settled in. We could have learned about their internal politics and how their move to the east coast effected them as an organization. The Enclave could have been much more story-wise. Of course in the case of the enclave it’s not so much an internal fight between fascism and liberty and more of a fight between Nazism and Italian fascism but there is a still a difference between the evils that we never really get to see. A hint at an internal ideological struggle of sorts. We have hints of more going on like August’s less zealous attitude compared to Eden. We only explore the Enclave at a surface level compared to other factions. You’d think considering that the game is set in in the capital of the pre-war United States that an organization that can rightfully claim to be the successor of if not itself being the United States Government would be right at home but in my opinion it just didn’t work out. By nature the Enclave are the bad guys and nothing would change that but they still have a story to tell. This could have set up a deeper story then we got. Since their west coast operations were ended in the second game they’ve moved to the East Coast and found themselves taken over by President Eden. It is my belief that the Enclave as a faction was used very poorly in Fallout 3. I’m just discussing them from a story and game perspective. I’m not trying to defend the Enclave or say they’re good guys like some edgelords here do. r/galaxynewsradio - Fallout-sounding music r/falloutcosplayers - Fallout-related cosplay r/Wasteland - A subreddit for the Wasteland games. r/thefalloutdiaries - Journal-like fan fiction. r/falloutmods - Fallout modding community ![]() r/classicfallout - Classic Fallout Games r/falloutlore - The lore of the Fallout series Piracy is a permanent ban, no warnings.Īll posts and comments in end, come down to moderator discretion.
